Romantic Spots Around the World #2: Lake Como

Lake Como or Lago di Como is one of the lake towns located in Northern Italy.  One hour away from Milan, Lake Como offers a mesmerizing and serene setting.

This was my first introduction to Italy.  I arrived at the airport in Milan and took the train to Lake Como.  I had a big suitcase with which I lugged around.  I won’t travel around like that today, I’ve learned my lesson.  ;-)

Fortunately, a young man sat in my car — a handsome Italian.  He had dark wavy hair that was combed back and reached below his ears, sharp cheekbones that defined his face even more and brown eyes behind a pair of fashionable glasses.  For a few seconds, he watched with amusement as I fought with my heavy suitcase.  Then he offered to help me.  When he stood up I was able to see how slim and tall he was — I’d say about 6feet.  He easily swung my baggage overhead and made sure it was secure and wouldn’t fall on anyone’s head.  I found out he was an astronomer and lived in another town.  We had a pleasant conversation till I reached my stop.  He helped me take down my luggage and we said good bye, then he continued on to his destination.

Lake Como was a perfect and romantic place to visit.  I’d highly recommend it as a first stop in Italy before moving to other places there.
