*Based on a word, place, or thing, I’ll write a scene. The focus of today’s scene is a ‘snow storm.’ So, here’s my story centering around a snow storm. At the end of the scene, I’m asking you to tell me what you think happens next.

Scene of the Week: One Stormy Night

“What are you doing here?”
The angry-sounding man’s voice awakened Avery Moore from her very erotic and delightful dream. Her eyes popped open and she quickly sat up, swinging her legs down from the couch in the middle of her office, to the carpeted floor.
“Where else am I supposed to be – the president’s office down the hall?” She blinked and rubbed her eyes, then raised them to see the dark gaze of Tony Gordano, the fine-looking maintenance man in her office building.
Still sleepy and unable to hide her perusal of Tony’s handsome face, she checked out his dark eyes, which seemed to burn with intensity, his chiseled-looking cheekbones and nose and kissable-looking lips. He had an equally looking sculpted body, that couldn’t be hidden, even under his blue uniform. The long-sleeved shirt couldn’t hide the fact that he had a wide chest and shoulders, and strong-looking arms.
God, he was hot. She took a slow, deep breath to calm herself. His nostrils flared. Could he tell that she’d just creamed her panties? Looking away from his face, she focused on his torso. Underneath his shirt, she imagined he had a flat stomach and she wondered if he even had a six-pack. The urge to reach out and find out for herself overcame her.
She stood up from the couch and walked towards him, stopping a foot away. “I don’t like your tone of voice with me, Mr. Gordano.”
He ran his hand through his short-cropped white hair, almost silver. She’d always wondered about his hair color. Probably premature coloring, she decided. When he moved, he did so with ease and speed. She never saw him in one place for long. He’d fix whatever needed fixing in the office and moved on to another problem in another part of the building just as quickly as he’d come.
From From the way he moved, with quiet strength, and the way his body looked, fit and hard, she knew he was young, no more than in his early thirties. He couldn’t be much older than her twenty-nine years of age. Just to give herself something to do, she smoothed her hands over her knee length, silk-lined woolen skirt.
“I’m sorry.” He seemed a bit agitated, as he shifted from one foot to the other before folding his arms across his wide chest. “It’s just that I’m surprised to see you here. Everyone left hours ago.”
She blinked, rubbing the gritty feeling from her eyes with her fingers. “What do you mean, everyone left hours ago?”
The corners of his oh-so kissable mouth lifted. “Haven’t you been listening to the news?”
Avery shook her head. “I didn’t have time, I…”
Tony walked to the wall of windows on the other side of her office and lifted the blinds. Snow swirled outside the window. “Take a look.”
She walked over to place her fingers on the icy cold glass, watching as a large flake of crystalline snow melted, quickly replaced by another. Snow covered everything, from the streets, parked cars, tree branches, and sidewalks. It looked like a magical winter wonderland. With the exception of someone going down the middle of the street on skies, like a cross-country skier, the streets were empty. There were no pedestrians or motorists in sight.
The glass rattled as a fierce wind howled through New York’s city streets and Avery jumped closer to Tony. When she realized what she’d done, she backed away, but not before feeling the side of Tony’s hard body and the heat that emanated from it. An electric shot raced through her body from the tips of her toes to her scalp, unleashing an energy that hardened her nipples and caused more moisture to form in her pussy. It took all her self-determination not to jump his bones right then and there. She spared another glance at the window before looking at him again. “No one’s waiting for me at home… Anyway… so… what are you still doing here?”
He shoved his hands into his pocket and shrugged. “There’s no one waiting home for me, either. Earlier, I thought I’d take care of a few repairs in the building before heading home and like you, I lost track of time. Because of the snowstorm, I have no choice but to stay here for the night.”
“I guess we’re stuck in the building till the morning, huh?” Just staring at him and being so close made her shiver with want. Her nipples hardened even more and she tried to casually cross her arms over chest so that he wouldn’t notice. In an effort to put some distance between them, she turned to walk towards her desk.
He cleared his throat. “Have you had dinner?”
“What?” She turned around.
“Dinner. You know, the meals of the day – breakfast, lunch, and dinner?”
Before she could give him an answer, her stomach growled. Her eyes widened in surprise and embarrassment and her hands flew to cover her stomach. “Well, I guess you have your answer.”
His face broke out in a smile. Ever since she’d seen him, he always looked serious, almost brooding. This was the first time she’d seen a smile on his face. Wow! He ought to smile more often.
“What are you smiling about?” She tried to sound serious and school her features the same way.
“Nothing.” He crossed his arms over his chest and his lips twitched.
“You’d better not be laughing at me.”
“Of course not.” His sexy dark eyes twinkled and his grin grew wider.
“I’m so serious.” Her arms still hugged her stomach.
The sight of his shoulders moving up and down as he burst out in contagious laughter caused her to laugh as well. He had a nice, deep, hardy laugh that she liked to hear and with which she enjoyed laughing alongside.
She wiped a tear from the corner of her eye as her laughter subsided. “No, I haven’t had dinner and I forgot to eat lunch. I guess my stomach is putting me on notice.”
“Just before the snow came down, I’d bought a pastrami sandwich and a bottle of Coke from the deli around the corner. We can share.”
“Pastrami! I haven’t eaten that in ages!” She tucked some hair behind her right ear. She needed a hair trim or perhaps, she should get single braids. She tucked her hair on the other side.
“Good, I’ll bring it up.” He shifted his stance, crossing a pair of muscular forearms across his broad chest. “One question, first?”
“What?” Her eyebrow arched as she tried to guess his question.
“Mustard or Mayo?”
She gave him a curious look. “You want to know what I like.”
He nodded. Slowly.
“What kind of condiment do you have on your pastrami sandwich?” She took a step towards him, unable to resist the vibes she felt between them.
“Mustard.” He grinned and stepped towards her, too. “Why?”
The way his lips stretched into another wide smile had her wanting to touch her lips to his. She wondered whether their lips would sizzle once they met. Would she see fireworks? She’d dreamed about kissing him and more.
At the thought of how he’d taste on her mouth, she licked her lips. Another fierce gust of wind pummeled the panes of glass on the window. She took another step towards him. “Oh, great. I’ll eat the sandwich with mayo but I prefer one with mustard. I love my pastrami with mustard.” She licked her lips again.
“Good. I prefer mustard, too. So, I’ll go get the sandwich.” He didn’t move though. He’d been staring at her lips, and then he stared deeply into her eyes, causing her heart to beat faster.
A boom sounded outside. Startled, she jumped and fell forward against his hard body. Her hands stretched out and she rested her palms on his wide chest. Just as she was about to push away from him his long arms closed around her. His heartbeat thumped beneath her palm and she couldn’t miss his hard-on resting against his thigh. She couldn’t take the sensations that screamed at her to do something about them anymore and rotated the lower half of her body against him.
He groaned and tightened his hold on her. Just then, the lights flickered and went out, causing the office to plunge into darkness. She looked up into his face and gasped. When she tried to pull back, he didn’t let go. What the hell? His eyes glowed a vibrant red.

I hope they get to know each other better. And they should kiss!! What does Avery look like and how tall is Tony? Are they working at a school or another business?

BTW!! Are you planning to finish the story.

Hey there, Cinquetta:
Thanks for playing along. Yeah, I hope they get to know each other better, too.
Avery’s a Black BBW. Voluptuous, tall, dark honey brown skin with lots of hair. She’s got dark brown eyes, an infectious smile and full lips that Tony can’t resist staring at when he thinks she’s not looking.
Tony’s about 6’3″, maybe taller
They work in an office building. When I wrote that scene, I hadn’t decided on the type of business.
I was not planning on finishing the story. The plan is just to pick a scene and write about it but if interest is expressed in seeing a full story come out of it, I’ll certainly think about it. I’ve been known to change my mind.
Happy 2009 to you!

please Please PLEASE change your mind and continue with the story!
It’s very interesting and I can’t wait to read some more. Just out of curiousity though – Is Tony “paranormal”? I think the story would be even more cool if he was….

Hi Lola A.: Welcome and thanks for your input. It helps me decide whether to work on the story or not. I just may change my mind.
Yes, Tony is a paranormal figure.
