Friday, January 16th, 2009

Folks:

There’s a lot of loot to bid on.    ;-)   You can find out what’s up for auction at this site:  For Sharon Cullars

Check out Roslyn Hardy Halcomb’s message below:

I’ve always known that the Romance community had some of the most fabulous people on the planet. Time and time again we’ve banded together to help one another and even a notorious band of ferrets. When we put out the call for items for Sharon’s auction I knew we’d get some great stuff. Even so, I’m like WHOA!!! Oh my, the pretties we’ve got. As usual my problem is, I want it all.

We’ve got items from some of the hottest authors out there, bestsellers Nalini Singh, Shiloh Walker, Angela Henry, Cheyenne McCray. We’ve even got ARCS. You’ll get to read them before anybody else! Need website design? Emma Petersen, who, besides being an awesome author is also a site designer, has her services up for bid. And the package from The Romance Studio? Just makes my mouth water. We’ve got critiques from published authors and acquisition editors, and a special critique by a Golden Heart finalist. In a word folks, don’t sleep on this one.

Head on over to the website (designed by Emma Petersen) to get a preview. The auction goes live on Monday, January 19th. So be sure to bid early and bid often. And please put the link up on your sites and in the social networks. We need to get the word out. Again, thanks so much to so many generous people. We can do this.

FOR SHARON CULLARS

**Ed. Note:  Just recently, I received a note of thanks from Sharon Cullars, which she asked that I pass on to you:

"Although there are many ways to say thiank you, there’s really no way to truly express how much I appreciate the kindness shown me during this particular challenging time in my life.  I’ve been given hope and that is a priceless gift." ~ Sharon Cullars

E-Bay Auction for Sharon Cullars

Friday, January 9th, 2009

First of all, I’d like to say a massive thanks to everybody who donated to Sharon Cullar’s Chip In fundraiser. In just over a week, you guys raised $1200. That’s f*cking awesome. You guys rock all kinds of wonderful.

Unfortunately, we’re a little off the target that Sharon needs to help her stay in her home, so some of Sharon’s friends are organising an E-bay Auction to help raise the rest of the funds required.

With this in mind, we need freebies from bloggers, authors, editors, publishers, web designers, so if you have items to donate - books or book baskets/collections, critiques, ARCs of upcoming releases, review spreads, mentoring opportunities, web or promotional material design work etc., please email the item description to Roslyn Holcombe at roslynholcomb @ mac.com (no spaces).

You guys have been amazing so far, and I think it would be fabulous if we could do something this important for one of our own.

If any of you still want to donate to the Chip In Fund, you can do so here. All donations will be gratefully received.

Or simply click on the Chip In Icon below.

Once again, please feel free to copy and paste, and post this info onto your respective blogs, the more people know about this, the more successful we’ll be I’m sure.

Thanks again for the wonderful effort so far.

I think we can really do this, folks.  We can help Sharon Cullars out.  Even if ten people donate ten dollars each or even one dollar each, we’d be on our way to reaching our goal to help out.  Thanks so much!

Treasure Trove Charity sponsers a Sweet, Sassy and Sexy Raffle!

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

Rochelle Sorzano of Simply Simone Inc. has come up with a fun way to help others.  Her charity will raffle off three special trunks filled with awesome goodies (worth over $600).  The prizes have been donated by several sucessful authors like Marilyn Lee, Angela Knight, Diane Whiteside, Jet Mykles, Kate Douglas Lena Mattthews and many more.  This is what Rochelle says about their charity goal:

"Our Goal for the Sweet, Sassy and Sexy Raffle is to get at least 5,000 people to donate $20 each. We are fully aware of the current financial climate and understand that $20 is a lot to ask you to give. However, we request that you give in the spirit of giving. The three charities, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, The 3 Day. Org (Cure for Cancer), and Save the Quiet Kitty are worthy causes, that the sole purpose is to help others. We humbly ask you to take part in this endeavor and help us help others."

Check out her web site Treasure Trove Charity for more information, to see the contents of the three trunks, and how you can participate.
