This romantic comedy always makes me laugh each time I see it (and I’ve seen it far too many times, due to repeated showings on T.V.). The movie, starring Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler, who have great chemistry together. is about a wedding singer who falls in love with a girl (and vice versa).

I enjoy the icon references to the ’80s — from Miami Vice to Bily Idol, Michael Jackson, Boy George and more. Some of my favorite scenes include when an old lady sings to her husband on their wedding anniversary and later performs a rap song, the main characters getting married, and a once drunk guest becomes a wedding singer. Funny!

Anyone, seen this movie? Anyone enjoyed it?

Victor Victoria is about a woman with a wonderful soprano voice pretending to be a man who is pretending to be a woman. Got it?

It’s also about a handsome, macho man who falls for someone he thinks is a man (pretending to be a woman). Problem is that he’s not gay and he can’t understand why he’s so attracted to another man. Are you still with me? As a result, this macho man fights his attraction all the way.

The woman (pretending to be a man pretending to be a woman) finds herself attracted to Mr. Macho. Except she can’t afford to fall for a man, when everyone thinks she’s a man.

The entire storyline is funny and trust me, it’s NOT confusing as I’ve probably made it seem. Do the two get together? Of course, and you can imagine the Alpha male’s relief when Mr. Macho finds out that he’s attracted to and fallen for a woman, not a man. The problem for the two, then, becomes how they can have a normal relationship, especially in public. There are a lot of other funny scenes and the music is fun to listen to.

This 1982 music comedy stars Julie Andrews (one of my fave actresses and singers), James Garner, Robert Preston (two favorite actors, too) and more talented actors.

If you ever come across this romantic comedy on T.V. don’t miss it.

So, a princess, played by Audrey Hepburn, is on tour in Italy. She’s tired of her official duties and strict schedule. Instead, the princess wants to be a regular person and see Italy as such. Sneaking out into public, incognito, she gets her wish when meets a handsome young man, played by Gregory Peck, who takes her around. They have fun and fall for each other. There’s one important thing about him that she doesn’t know. He’s a journalist and could expose her secret. What’s a princess to do?

One of the reasons I like this movie is not only the storyline and the actors, but I love the setting. Anything to do with Italy, I love. I think it’s a romantic country. Rome is a city of romance.

This 1953 romantic comedy is an oldie but goodie. Have you seen any oldies but goodies lately?
